Education and Training (PTLLS) Level 3 Award

Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET), formerly known as Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector (PTLLS)

Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introductory award that covers the basics of teaching in the lifelong learning sector. Because it provides a solid foundation on general teaching principles, it’s a really useful course if you’re thinking about developing your teaching skills to the next level. This is an essential requirement to give classroom training in schools and colleges. It is also the first step to becoming a recognised professional teacher and essential if you want to deliver funded training. Therefore, if you are interested in doing other types of training for higher rates of pay then this is the course you need to start with. This training will also help you better understand how our industry is likely to be modernised over the next few years and put you in a good position to exploit the opportunities that will undoubtedly arise.

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training award is for those who are or who want to be a teacher, tutor or trainer and need to be able to plan, prepare and implement learning for a specialist area. Level 3 Award in Education and Training is the initial award, which has been developed to provide a threshold licence to teach in the lifelong learning sector in England. Level 3 Award in Education and Training is also the first step to a full teacher qualification. The course is also for trained tutors or teachers who want to update their underpinning knowledge and teaching or training skills.
